剧情简介
山姆大学里的朋友贝基打电话过来，恳求他帮帮自己被控谋杀的弟弟。她弟弟和她呆了一个晚上，但另一处命案现场的录影带里，却清清楚楚显示出凶手正是他弟弟。此时，变成贝基弟弟的那个男人无声地潜近一对夫妇，这次他变成了丈夫的模样，毒打妻子致死。不知情的丈夫因这一令人发指的罪行被逮捕了。
山姆坚持要帮贝基这个忙。迪安不在乎，但很惊讶他还和以前的朋友保持联系。“你该如何向他们解释你现在的生活呢?”“就说我已经从女友被害的阴影里走了出来，正在沿公路旅行当中。”山姆狡猾地回答。
山姆和迪安发现了一只变形妖精，可以任意变化成其他人的模样，在伪装下杀人。只要用银子弹打中他的心脏，他就会死掉。而他们恰好手边有一箱银子弹。但是妖精变成了迪安的模样，山姆看见他的眼睛闪烁，怀疑起来，开始讯问他们小时候的事情。妖精答得一丝不差。山姆疑心退了，把车钥匙扔给他——妖精用受过伤的手去接钥匙!山姆把枪对准了妖精，但难以对着哥哥模样的妖精开枪。妖精打昏了他，把他绑在自己巢穴里，谴责他只顾自己快活，把哥哥留在家里和父亲生活，和妖怪搏斗——山姆意识到，虽然妖精是假的，但它奇妙地分享了哥哥的记忆和感觉!
终于，兄弟俩干掉了妖精，贝基的弟弟也无罪释放了。贝基说，山姆的同学和朋友都十分渴望他回去。迪安向山姆道歉，不该把他拖下水。山姆说，不，早在和你在一起之前，我就感觉到我和学校，和正常生活格格不入了。
