MALAMALA TODAY. Another hot day at the office both both literally and figuratively speaking. The 2 cheetah brothers were back at Clarendon Dam this morning. Always a treat to view these animals. The 3 Styx lionesses were in search of a cooling breeze and spent most of the day on Campbell Koppies before getting active at dusk. The 3 Eyrefield lionesses were in the company of the 2 Matshapiri males. As for leopards, 4 were seen today: the Airstrip male, the Treehouse male, the Matshapiri female as well as one of the daughters of the Kikilezi female. No big herd of buffalo but a few old males here and there. And as usual,

MALAMALA TODAY. Game viewing right out of the top drawer! The Matshapiri male lions and Eyrefield lionesses chased the Emsagweni female leopard up a tree. The 5 lions were then chased off by a herd of 100 buffalo and the leopard fled safely. A second herd of about 30 buffalo approached the Sand River later on- the lions didn't hesitate this time and brought down an adult female cow. The Bicycle Crossing male leopard currently has the upper hand in a showdown with an unidentified younger male leopard. We watched the Island female kill a bushbuck. The Treehouse male was in the vicinity of the lions as was the aging Dudley female. Another unidentified male leopard was viewed in Marthly. 5 herds of buffalo were seen in total and elephants were everywhere. MALAMALA TODAY. A quick highlights package: Elephants chasing a sable antelope, lions vs buffalo, 2 cheetah and a very aggressive lioness on Stwise...
Lions: The 2 Matshapiri males and 3 Eyrefield lionesses are still on their buffalo kill but that didn't stop the lionesses from trying their luck with another herd of buffalo that came to drink nearby. The Charleston lioness and her 2 cubs were at Calabash Crossing and an aggressive lioness has been on Stwise Koppie for 2 days. No confirmed ID yet as encounters have been brief but we suspect the lioness is denning!

马拉马拉：matshipiri哥俩吼个不停，两头冥河雌狮在stwise koppie处被目击。马大少仍在主营地附近。3头年轻的talamati雄狮猎获的水牛已经吃得只剩下残羹剩饭了，鬣狗们把3头talamati小雄狮从水牛尸体边给赶走了。一头雌狮在南部被目击。
5 lion sightings: The 2 Matshapiri males were good value this evening as they couldn't stop roaring! 2 Styx lionesses were at the base of Stwise Koppie. 1 male lion (Nkahuma) close to Main Camp. 3 young males (Talamati) at Matshapiri Dam were chased off their buffalo kill scraps by hyenas. 1 unidentified lioness down south.

Lions: the 3 members Matshapiri pride and the 3 Eyrefield lionesses were at Confluence Crossing- the atmosphere was hostile. There was a male lion at Charleston Rock walking southwards away from us towards 8 other lions in the distance.

昨天，马特娃娃脸在地上打滚，它们哥俩又捕获了1头小水牛，3头斯巴达雌狮也在马拉马拉被看到捕杀水牛。
斯帕达雌狮生育的2个幼崽性别已经被确认，为一雌一雄！

Lions: The Eyrefield lioness and her 2 cubs were viewed at their den. The other of the 2 older lionesses gave birth yesterday on the banks of the Sand River. The 3rd lioness was nearby along with the 2 Matshapiri males. The Marthly pride are close to Main Camp. 2 Gowrie males are with the youngest Styx lioness in the north (mating). The 3 other Styx lionesses were along the Mlowathi River

之前已经生了一雌一雄两只幼崽的斯巴达雌狮，被发现和幼崽在它们的巢穴。又有一只斯巴达雌狮诞下马特兄弟的幼崽，在沙河岸边。第3只没有生育的斯帕达雌狮与马特兄弟，则就守在生育了孩子雌狮的所在地附近！
查拉拉主队出现在Main Camp附近，2头伯明翰雄狮马拉马拉北部与1只年轻的冥河雌狮交配，另外的冥河雌狮则在马拉马拉北部的Mlowathi河！


马特兄弟对年轻的Matshapiri雌狮很好，前几天还有消息称看到马特兄弟和她一起进食，并且马特兄弟曾经赶跑斯帕达狮群的雌狮霸占猎物后，然后再与Matshapiri雌狮一起分享这个猎物，可见马特兄弟是真的把Matshapiri雌狮当做了自己人。但最近斯帕达与四路狮群的雌狮都有为马特兄弟生育了孩子，就算马特兄弟对Matshapiri雌狮再好，也很难使得四路与斯帕达狮群会接受她加入，，，

2016年2月8日当天白天，马蹄吧雄狮在londolozi中心地带以及沙河东岸巡逻，晚间，在更下游的地方传来狮子的打斗声。londolozi向导猜测认为可能是伯明翰雄狮干的，然而老外狮迷对londolozi指出，事发当天5头伯明翰雄狮全部都在nk营地，不应该是伯明翰干的，而当天的信息显示马特兄弟就在事发地附近。

2016年2月8号当天马特雄狮兄弟与2头斯帕达母狮还有幼崽是一起在马拉马拉的沙河流域与Manyeleti河这两条河的交汇处被目击的，（the 2 Matshapiri males were with 2 Eyrefield lionesses and the 2 oldest cubs just north of Confluence Crossing）。从在地图上做的大概标记可以看出，马特兄弟与马蹄吧兄弟当天分别被目击到的地方，显示它们之间的距离是非常近的，一不小心就会相遇，而且当天马特雄狮兄弟与狮群中的幼崽是在一起的，为了幼崽的安全，这个时候狮群里雌狮与雄狮的警戒心很强，会对潜在的或出现在它们周围不安全的事物进行攻击和清理，所以基本可以确定打伤马老三的，就是当天和马蹄吧雄狮之间距离近在咫尺的马特雄狮！马蹄吧雄狮马三，很有可能是在与马五一起巡逻的途中，在分开一段距离的时候，而遭到了在不远处察觉到它们存在的马特雄狮哥俩的突袭。

2016年2月8日-2月29日马拉马拉目击报告
以下是马特兄弟从2016年2月8号至2月29日在马拉马拉的全部目击报告，马拉马拉一贯没有更新照片与过多文字详细描述的习惯，一般都是以简单的目击记录方式进行更新！马特兄弟在8号被目击后的第二或第三天的9/10号出现在了U营地，文字描述它们当时在随意漫步，显得自信且悠哉。马特兄弟的领土不算小，其中有一部分在马拉马拉东边的克鲁格地区，这是它们统治的另一个四路狮群的领地，因此它们也不会一直呆在马拉马拉中部，而会去克鲁格看望和保护并陪伴四路狮群与小幼崽！

2月29日February 29th. 3 lion sightings: A surprise sighting today as the 2 Clarendon males were at West Street Bridge! The Marthly pride are back in more familiar territory along the Sand River south of Main Camp. The Eyrefield pride and both Matshapiri males are still feeding off their buffalo kill close to Rattray's Camp.

March 2nd. 2 lions sightings: The other Matshapiri male is with the Eyrefield pride and they killed 2 buffalo cows around Confluence Crossing. The Marthly pride were in in front of Main Camp.

MALAMALA TODAY: March 3rd. 4 lion sightings: we watched the Marthly pride bring down a buffalo cow close to Main Camp this morning. Both Matshapiri males are with the Eyrefield pride and their 4 cubs- all still feeding off their 2 buffalo cow kills. 1 Fourways lioness and her 4 cubs are feeding off their buffalo cow kill west of the windmill. A pride and 2 males (Sand River/Toulon) were in the south as well as 2 more unidentified males. 4 leopards: the Treehouse male, Airstrip male, DOKF 3:3 were all viewed as well as an unidentified male at Wild Dog Rocks. 2 herds of buffalo were seen as well as many elephant sightings. MALAMALA TODAY: March 14th. 3 lion sightings: the Marthly pride treated us to an usual sighting as 4 members ascended a marula tree that was already occupied by the Tamboti female leopard and her impala kill. She could only watch from the safety of the higher branches as the lions devoured her meal. The Sand River pride were seen in the south. The Eyrefield pride and both Matshapiri males were in the central parts of Flockfield.

MALAMALA TODAY: March 17th. 4 lion sightings: the Matshapiri pride was seen- it's been a while since we've viewed the 2 males and the female together. The 3 Eyrefield lionesses were with their 4 cubs and the Fourways lionesses were with theirs- both in Flockfield. The Marthly pride moved further south and east and are now at Matshapiri Open Area.

It has been a long time since the two Mathsipiri males were seen on Londolozi soil. Casting my mind back, the last time I saw them myself was probably August last year when one of them was chased for his life by the Majingilane coalition. It seems that they were happy to settle in the east after that, mating with the Sparta pride and avoiding the potential threat of the Majingilane, as well as the newly-arrived Matimba coalition.距离上次在Londolozi保护区看见马特兄弟已过去了很长时间，记忆中，我最后一次看到他们是在去年的8月份（实际上在这期间，马特雄狮有过多次进入londolozi，只能说是这个向导正好没有当班，所以没有遇到在londolozi出没的马特雄狮）当时他们其中一只被保卫者联盟驱逐（当晚集合后的马特雄狮，反过来对着保卫者雄狮咆哮进行回以颜色，整个事情的经过在前面2015年8月17日的londolozi的博文中，有过详细的描述），好像从那之后他们在东部（马拉马拉）过上了幸福的生活，他们与斯巴达雌狮交配，避免了保卫者联盟潜在的威胁，当然还有最近到来的马蹄巴联盟（其实马蹄吧雄狮已经在londolozi定居超过半年了，并非是向导说的那样最近才来的）。
These two males have since fathered cubs with the Sparta pride (two lionesses have birthed two cubs each) and the months of drought saw them spending the vast majority of their time in and around the Sand River to the east of Londolozi, hunting buffalo with great success.现在这两只雄狮已经是斯巴达狮群四只幼崽的父亲了（两只斯巴达雌狮各有两只幼崽），经过旱季中几个月的观察，我们发现他们将大部分的精力都放在沙河周围区域与londolozi保护区的东部区域之间，他们总是能够成功地捕到水牛。

Five days ago ranger Shaun D’Araujo and tracker Elmon Mhlongo were returning with their guests from the deep south of Londolozi when three lionesses emerged from the bush in front of them, crossing the road in their headlights. With hearts in their mouths, all on the vehicle watched as four very small shapes tumbled out of the thicket line and followed the adults across the beam and disappeared into the bushwillows on the other side. The Sparta pride had returned! The next day their tracks were in the area but heading back towards the river, possibly in an attempt to move the cubs away from the nomadic Talamati males, a group of three from a rival pride that have been pushed into independence and have been spending time in Londolozi’s deep south.

Then yesterday afternoon they were seen again by ranger Andrea Sithole as they crossed into Londolozi north of the Maxabene Riverbed, but only briefly.
Trackers Milton Khoza and Innocent Ngwenya along with rangers Melvin Sambo and Andrea Campbell set out to find the pride and their cubs this morning, but their tracking efforts were interrupted by the discovery of the two Matshipri males who had also come west during the night and were feeding on the carcass of a wildebeest. According to Andrea, the feeding behaviour was rather strange, as both males were feeding fast and looking nervous, despite there being very little meat left.

This seems to suggest that the kill was stolen and not made by them. The fact that the Matimba males were roaring across the river from camp this morning may also have put the Matshipiri males on the alert, as they are in territory they haven’t been in for months, and as far as I know have yet to encounter the Matimba coalition and are unaware of their strength or weakness.

Either way, once they had finished what meat remained, the Matshipri males began moving back east, and eventually settled near the Maxabene Riverbed. With general game flooding back onto the central parts of the reserve in droves since the breaking of the drought, hunting opportunities will be rife, and we hope these males and indeed the Sparta pride as well will be spending more time on their old hunting grounds.

2016年4月19号在马拉马拉中部，当天斯帕达狮群在West Street地区的沙河里杀死了一只大捻角羚。





2016年4月20日更新在萨比森南部Lion Sands营地拍摄到的马特莫西干雄狮照片，4月19号马拉马拉官网信息更新中只目击到了斯帕达狮群，当天马特雄狮没有在马拉马拉被目击。这说明当天马特兄弟应该是离开了马拉马拉中部，并南下到了萨比森的K营地与Lion Sands营地一带。

5月16日，马特莫西干和斯巴达狮群一起，马蹄吧兄弟则在Marthly（londolozi东北部靠近马拉马拉西北部的地方）巡逻，1头身份不明的年轻雄狮在吃雌花豹杀的动物尸体余下的一小部分。

5月17日，Matsharipi狮群全员在马拉马拉的中心地区被看到，马特雄娃娃脸和Matsharipi雌狮一起，马特莫西干独处， 但是也在同一地区，他左前腿有伤，正在瘸行。昨天那个年轻雄狮还在昨天花豹杀死猎物的尸体所在地。

今天在马拉马拉，马特雄狮兄弟和2只斯帕达母狮一起捕牛，当它们合力把水牛击倒后，躲在某处的Matshapiri雌狮走出来，想要一起吃饭。斯帕达雌狮警觉的看着缓缓走来的Matshapiri雌狮，并突然对她发动了攻击，马特娃娃脸为了调停这个纷争，各打五十大板，而正在锁喉水牛的马特莫西干雄狮，也因此放弃了已经到手的水牛，转而加入到了这场亲人之间的调和战！
这已经是第二次看到马特雄狮积极的介入到Matshapiri雌狮与斯帕达雌狮的纷争之中，显然马特雄狮是想要保护这只和它们兄弟俩曾经共患难一起走到今天的Matshapiri雌狮，但处理这错综复杂的纠纷，并非易事，，，

2天前，看到和2个兄弟走散后的T黑棕独自尾随着6只曼海尼雌狮及马蹄吧雄狮，进入到靠近londolozi东南部的区域活动，这里距离马特雄狮联盟的领土已经很近。T黑棕与马蹄吧及狮群保持着一个较为安全的距离，当天它们杀死了一个猎物，包括T黑棕在内的9只狮子一起进食。当晚，马蹄吧雄狮哥俩离开猎物与狮群，朝着西部方向巡逻。第二天清晨，马特雄狮兄弟也许是嗅到了猎物的气味而找到了留下来的6只曼海尼雌狮与T黑棕，马特雄狮冲进狮群，T黑棕与雌狮们被马特雄狮冲散，分开后的雌狮与T黑棕呼唤着对方，幸运的是，它们都没有被马特雄狮抓住。
不久后，马特雄狮决定并慢慢的朝着东边返回（马拉马拉），但这些骚动引起了马蹄吧雄狮的注意，它们立即朝着发出骚乱声的位置快速前进，同时不断的咆哮着。马蹄吧雄狮沿途跟踪着马特雄狮留下来的气味，并看到了它们的背影。当马蹄吧雄狮追赶到一条马路的时候，它们停止了步伐，毫无疑问这是这两个雄狮联盟之间的领土边界线。就在那时，两个雄狮联盟都发出了咆哮声宣告着自己的领土主权，但双方都不愿意冒险跨过这条边界线。

英文原文被度娘删除，所有就不附上了！简单叙述一下事情经过，10月17日，萨比森南部Kirkman’s营地导游Matthew带着游客看到一头沿着沙河河畔做气味标记的花豹，标记完领土后，毫无戒心的雄性花豹在小憩。此刻，马特娃娃脸雄狮躺在河对岸，马特雄狮不久后开始悄悄地靠近花豹，幸运的是花豹最终没有被杀死，，，
拍摄地点应该是在马拉马拉南部，看视频里给人的感觉是，马特娃娃脸并没有真的想下死手要杀死这头雄性花豹，，，
