MALAMALA TODAY: October 27th. The hot weather we experienced over the last few days seems a distant memory as the temperature dropped by 20*C and the rain rolled in. Lions: The 3 young males from the Marthly pride killed a buffalo in the Sand River north of Calabash Crossing.（三头查拉拉雄狮在沙河北部的calabash crossing 捕获一头水牛）As darkness fell we noticed another lion cautiously approaching, it was one of the Avoca males. It took a long time for the 3 notice him and when they eventually did their response was measured... initially at least. We’ll have to wait and see what transpired over night. （夜幕降临后，我们注意到另外一头雄狮小心地靠近，是其中一头小牛。查拉拉雄狮花了很长时间才注意到小牛，起初查拉拉雄狮的反应很缓慢。我们要等待，看看会发生什么。）The Matshapiri male is still with 4 of the lionesses from the Kambula pride and surprising they were in central Charleston moving south and east.（马特娃娃脸还和四头坎布拉母狮一起 ，惊讶的是他们从charlesron往东南方向走。）Reports from the Kruger informed us the Mantimahle males are close to our boundary in south eastern Charleston- the Matshapiri male will do well to avoid them.（来自克鲁格的消息说曼联在向我们charlston东南方靠近 娃娃脸会很熟练的避开他们） Leopards: The Island female finished off her impala kill south of Maxim’s Lookout. The Teardrop female and her 2 cubs were viewed at Flat Rocks. The Ndzilo female and her cub were seen near Calabash Crossing. Cape hunting dogs: We enjoyed an amazing sighting of a pack of 8 at Mlowathi Dam. 娃娃脸和坎布拉抢夺三查啦啦一牛油果水牛
Read on someones reports that they saw they saw an injured male lion and saw mantimahle the next day and think the mantimahle couldve injured it. When someone asked the question which lion, she blocked them. So i cant ask这段文字说有人报道说看见了一只受伤的狮子，第二天看见了曼联觉得是曼联殴打的，当人们问是那只受伤的狮子时，她木有回答！所以我不能询问！这个原笔者认为是牛油果其中一员！不过我也不敢确定，只能等后续消息！

2017.10.31马拉马拉日记：牛大牛2汇合！
MALAMALA TODAY: October 28th-30th. Over the last 3 days we’ve enjoyed sightings of 5 different male lion coalitions, 3 prides, 12 leopards and much more. Lions: On Saturday morning the 3 nomadic males from the Marthly pride were still feeding off their buffalo kill with a single Avoca male for company - they were ‘passively’ growling at each other. As far as we can tell nothing serious happened overnight. Whatever differences they had were put on hold when the Matshapiri male and 4 Kambula lionesses came barging in and, after a brief scuffle, took possession of the kill. The young males moved about 100m away before they settled down and continued growling at each other. The other 2 Kambula lionesses were near West Street Bridge. By daybreak on Sunday the Matshapiri male and 4 Kambula lionesses had finished what remained of the buffalo carcass and moved onto Sibuye Drive. The Manyeleti male with the scar-nose was viewed just a few hundred meters away from them. One of the Gowrie males and the Styx pride had killed something near Wild Dog Rocks Open Area and we viewed them just lazing about. On Monday we found 3 of the cubs from the Marhtly pride near Stwise. It’s been a torrid time of late for this pride and the cubs were not looking good. The Styx pride have regrouped with their 4 young cubs south of the Nwana Nonantshemeni Donga. The Matshapiri male was seen with a kill west of Emsagwen Waterhole. The Avoca males have reunited and they were viewed in Toulon, as were the 3 nomadic males from the Marthly pride

MALAMALA TODAY: November 2nd & 3rd. We’ve had some excellent sightings over the last couple days but 2 in particular have generated the most conversations amongst us. The first is the discovery of the Lookout female’s den. Leopards in general are secretive animals but the Lookout female takes it to the next level! Despite a large portion of her territory being close to Rattray’s Camp she is one of our least viewed leopards. So the discovery of her den, under a pile of debris south of Buffalo Pans was a particularly exciting moment. We haven’t laid eyes on the cubs yet but that is not surprising as we believe they are only a week old. The other sighting that grabbed headlines yesterday involved the Styx pride, 2 Gowrie males and elephants.（昨天第二件刺激的目击包括了冥河狮群，两头小伯还有大象） All 15 lions, including the 4 young cubs, were in the Mlowathi River close to Mlowathi Dam when an elephant bull burst through the bush and came thundering towards them. （冥河狮群15头狮子包括四头年轻的小幼狮在lowathi河靠近mlowathi大坝的地方，当一群大象穿过树丛快速地靠近冥河狮群）Naturally, the lions fled in the opposite direction but it was how the 2 males reacted that was remarkable... They waited until the whole pride had passed them and only then retreated a few meters before they turned around, faced the elephant side by side and roared in unison.（狮子的自然反应当然是往相反方向跑，但两头小伯的反应才是重点...小伯们等着直到整个狮群越过他们，然后后撤几米，再转回去一起向大象发出吼声。 After this they regrouped with the pride but the elephant charged again and again the reaction was the same.（然后他们回去与狮群汇合但大象又开始反击，小伯还是用同样的方式回敬象群） This happened 4 times and every time the males waited for the females and cubs to get behind them. MALAMALA TODAY: November 9th. 3 lion sightings: The 4 impressive Gowrie males were viewed moving north from West Street Bridge. The Styx pride have finished their waterbuck kill and spent most of the day east of Mlowathi Dam. The Matshapiri male was seen in eastern Flockfield. （四头小伯看见早上从西街桥往北走。冥河狮群则解决了他们的水羚，然后一整天呆在molwarhi大坝东部。娃娃脸在flockfield东部看见）5 leopards: The heavily pregnant Emsagweni female was at Pat’s Drift Koppies. The Lookout female was hunting near her den south of Buffalo Pans. The Accipiter male is becoming more and more accustomed to our Land Rovers- we enjoyed a lengthy sighting of him on the hunt around Matshapiri Open Area. The Island female was just south Main Camp and the Piccadilly female was in Marthly. Many elephant sightings were also recorded today. 2017.11.16娃娃脸和四路狮群出现在查尔斯顿大坝
MALAMALA TODAY: November 14th-15th. Weather-wise we have experienced 2 very different days. Yesterday was hot and sunny but today, clouds ominous and black, drifted in from the west. Thunder came marching in with the clouds and after dark a curtain of rain lashed down on the bushveld.
Lions: The Kambula pride were viewed on both days however the pride remains split. 4 of the lionesses have been viewed in the areas around West Street Bridge and the Matshapiri River whilst the other 2 have been closer to Main Camp. In fact this evening the 2 were hunting waterbuck in front of Room 1. Yesterday was packed with excitement when we discovered an unidentified pride of 6 skittish lions with a buffalo kill north of Clarendon Dam. There was a large male with them who we believe was the Matshapiri male but on account of the other lions behavior we had to view from a distance.
马拉马拉今天！14号-15号。我们经历了两个截然不同的天气。昨天天气炎热，阳光明媚而今天乌云压顶，黑色的云团从西边飘来。隆隆的雷声随着乌云滚滚而来，黄昏后的雨帘猛烈的冲击着灌木丛和草原。
狮子目击：坎布拉狮群这两天依旧在分裂状态。4只坎布拉母狮被看见在西街桥和Matshapiri河附近，而另外2只坎布拉母狮在主营地附近。事实上今晚两只母狮在1号房间前面捕猎羚羊。昨天我们发现6只怕生的狮子在查尔斯顿大坝北边吃牛。这里还有一只大的雄狮，观察员认为是马特娃娃脸，但考虑到其他狮子都很怕车辆所以我们不得不从远处观望（我觉得是四路没错，6只不明的狮子，四路狮群是 2母狮 4亚成年，4亚成年2雄2雌）前天娃娃脸和四路狮群出现在猎豹平原！

2017 11/20马拉马拉日记:小伯，查拉拉，牛油果，娃娃脸
MALAMALA TODAY: November 17th-19th. Lions: The recent movements of the Gowrie males to some extent adhere to an African proverb that reads; “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” When viewing these lions in the comfort of their territory we often see them in ones and twos but every time we’ve seen them pushing south, all four have been together. (最近小伯的动向某些程度上像非洲的谚语:如果你想走快些，单独一人。如果你想走远点，抱团。"我们在小伯的领土内时，一般都是一头或两头在一起。但当他们南推的时候，四头都会在一起）This was the case again on both Thursday and Friday when they were all near Matshapiri Open Area. Venturing south as unit is wise as a run in with the Mantimahle males is a possibility.（星期二与星期五在matshapiri平原就是这样。 因为曼联的原因，抱团往南是一个明智.they have since returned to the north and we’ve had sightings of 2 males on their own.(他们似乎已经回到了北部，我们也看到单独的两头小伯。） The 2 Avoca males were viewed on the 17th and the 19th in western and central Charleston respectively. （两头牛油果在17号与19号于西部与charleston中部。）Interestingly the 3 nomadic males from the Marthly pride were seen with an Eyrefield lioness at Calabash Crossing today. （有趣的，今天三头查拉拉雄狮看见和一头斯帕达母狮在calabash crossing）The Matshapiri male was in eastern Flockfield. （娃娃脸在flokfield东部）

马拉马拉今天！14号-15号。我们经历了两个截然不同的天气。昨天天气炎热，阳光明媚而今天乌云压顶，黑色的云团从西边飘来。隆隆的雷声随着乌云滚滚而来，黄昏后的雨帘猛烈的冲击着灌木丛和草原。
狮子目击：坎布拉狮群这两天依旧在分裂状态。4只坎布拉母狮被看见在西街桥和Matshapiri河附近，而另外2只坎布拉母狮在主营地附近。事实上今晚两只母狮在1号房间前面捕猎羚羊。昨天我们发现6只怕生的狮子在查尔斯顿大坝北边吃牛。这里还有一只大的雄狮，观察员认为是马特娃娃脸，但考虑到其他狮子都很怕车辆所以我们不得不从远处观望（我觉得是四路没错，6只不明的狮子，四路狮群是 2母狮 4亚成年，4亚成年2雄2雌）前天娃娃脸和四路狮群出现在猎豹平原！

MALAMALA TODAY: November 17th-19th. Lions: The recent movements of the Gowrie males to some extent adhere to an African proverb that reads; “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” When viewing these lions in the comfort of their territory we often see them in ones and twos but every time we’ve seen them pushing south, all four have been together. (最近小伯的动向某些程度上像非洲的谚语:如果你想走快些，单独一人。如果你想走远点，抱团。"我们在小伯的领土内时，一般都是一头或两头在一起。但当他们南推的时候，四头都会在一起）This was the case again on both Thursday and Friday when they were all near Matshapiri Open Area. MALAMALA TODAY: November 27th & 28th. Lions: It’s been an interesting two days! All 4 Gowrie males, a Manyelethi male, the Matshapiri male and the Kambula pride are in the heart of our reserve. 4 Kambula lionesses were with the Matshapiri male yesterday evening. Shortly after we found them the scar-nosed Manyelethi male came charging in and they all scattered. MALAMALA TODAY: December 1st-3rd. The festive season is upon us and we started the month off with a sprinkling of MalaMala Magic. Elephants are back in their droves and sightings of other animals almost always came hand-in-hand with a herd or two of our free roaming giants. Yesterday we had lions, hyenas and Cape hunting dogs all simultaneously hunting impala around Campbell Koppies. The Lookout female and her small cubs have also treated us to special moments. We totaled 10 sightings of 14 different leopards and 6 lion sightings. Lions: The Matshapiri male and 5 Kambula lionesses were viewed everyday between the Ngoboswaan Donga and Campbell Koppies. The 6th lioness was in northern Charleston. MALAMALA TODAY: December 4th-6th.
The magic continues. Over the last 3 days we enjoyed 6 sightings of 22 different lions, 13 sightings of 15 different leopards, 2 sightings of Cape huntings and much more. Lions: 3 of the Gowrie males were were viewed roaring on our airstrip yesterday. Today we found them along Reedbuck road- it was a dramatic sight as this impressive coalition moved through open grasslands in light rain.（三头小伯昨天在我们的机场吼叫。今天我们发现他们在reedbuck路 他们在小雨中穿越草丛的景象，让我们印象深刻。 5 of the lionesses from the Kambula pride were with the Matshapiri male north of Rattray’s Camp. （五头坎布拉母狮与娃娃脸在rattrays营地北部）The Styx pride were seen on 2 days. The Matshipiri male holds his gaze while the Kambula pride drinks from a near by wallow that has recently been filled by the torrential downpour of summer rains. Out numbered 4 to 1 by the Gowrie Coalition this male still roars into the evening announcing his presence to all. Brave or foolish, time will tell.

Lions: The last 2 days were dominated by male lions with 5 sightings of 3 coalitions. The 2 Avoca males were viewed on Sibuye Drive in the south sibuye drive .（这两天都是雄狮联盟的目击，5目击来自不同的狮群。牛油果看见在南部） 3 Gowrie males were seen separately between Main Camp and Rattray’s Camp.
