Crooked Tail arrived in Tadoba in 2006. He was completely unknown at the time but soon started to have real impact because of the paucity of dominant males at this time in the area. Boom and Hilltop male had for years had the run of the mill to themselves and so Crooked Tail came as a wake-up call to them.... to be continued.....#CrookedTail #TigerLove

NAGPUR: A full-grown tiger was found dead inside the 625-sq km Tadoba National Park, 50 kms from Chandrapur, on Saturday.
Confirming the death, Dr S H Patil, field director and conservator of forests, Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR), told TOI, "The carcass of the tiger, aged around 15 years, was noticed by the field staff on Saturday morning at Ambepat, on Pandharpaoni-Bhanushkindi road in compartment number 69/82. The tiger died due to old age as its teeth were missing."
Dr Patil further informed that the tiger might have died two days ago but the carcass was noticed on Saturday. An inquest panchanama was performed after post-mortem and the carcass was disposed of.
Sheshvrao Patil, field director, TATR, ruled out that the tiger fell prey to poachers.
According to sources, this is the sixth death of a tiger since January 2005 inside Tadoba core area. Earlier, in the summer of 2005, two tiger cubs were found dead in Zari area. Later, a male tiger died in a territorial fight in Khatoda area on April 28, 2006. Similarly, a three-year-old tigress was found dead in compartment number 111 near Jamni Chowk in June 2006.
With the death of the Ambepath tiger, the total tiger count has gone down to 42, the official census figure.

Couple things i wanted to address, Khali is not Wagdoh’s son. he’s a male from an unknown ancestry. rumored to be one of Coal mine male’s son, same male that ruled the entire buffer before Wagdoh made his way there. Pasha was also fathered by Coal mine Male.
28) the other Sharmili is from Kolara buffer and has cubs with Kankajhari male, it’s weird to have two tigresses with the same name but that’s very typical of Tadoba.

yes, new Matkasur ie current one is old Matkasur's ( Saturn / Namdev ) son. as said they are from an area outside kolara gate called Matkasur area. I don't know mother. And he may be born in 2012. I came across him In 2015 and he was fully grown.

yes. You may be right. I was not sure of Khali lineage. This is new info. But his face looks more like Waghdoh male only
yes, sharmilee stays on the fringes of core and buffer. She is with kankazari male. Last june we stayed at FDCM near kolara gate and she was seen very near that evening outside the compound.

Rudra – Deity of Storm & Hunt. .
Shivanzari female, well known tigress from Kolsa range had her second litter of four cubs fathered by Kakarghat male in year 2016. This family of Shivanzari were most frequently sighted tigers from Kolsa range in 2016, consisting of 3 males & 1 female. Before separation, this family had earned considerable amount of fame among tourists for their bold nature.
Probably in year 2017 a team of WII (Wildlife Institute of India) had collared one male and one female from the second litter of Shivanzari female, of which collared female after separation travelled to Umred-Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary, approx. 100km away from her birth place and is currently settled there. While one of the male cub who was injured and limping in attempt of hunting, was never seen after separation. Beside this pair of brother and sister, other male cub which was collared, named ‘Rudra’ travelled towards Karwa range of tadoba (Non-Tourism) and was thought to be settled owing to which his collar was dropped out. Suddenly in February 2019, he was once sighted in Junona buffer of Moharli range and then after recent sightings coming up from Wagdho area of new male tiger was immediately cross-checked and is confirmed as Rudra, who has now travelled from Kolsa to Karwa to Junona to Wagdho area as of now in search of making his territory. While his brother ‘Tala’, third male among the siblings is currently settled in Tadoba range. On observing duo of Shivanzari female, both these brothers are still trying to establish their respective territory and could settle in Tadoba range. This could be tough time for all the ruling and establishing males in Tadoba, considering multiple male in close proximity.
PS: Currently in Wagdho area, male tiger seen is Rudra, son of Shivanzari female and female tiger seen is Luna, daughter of Lara.

Shivanzari female, well known tigress from Kolsa range had her second litter of four cubs fathered by Kakarghat male in year 2016. This family of Shivanzari were most frequently sighted tigers from Kolsa range in 2016, consisting of 3 males & 1 female. Before separation, this family had earned considerable amount of fame among tourists for their bold nature.
Probably in year 2017 a team of WII (Wildlife Institute of India) had collared one male and one female from the second litter of Shivanzari female, of which collared female after separation travelled to Umred-Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary, approx. 100km away from her birth place and is currently settled there. While one of the male cub who was injured and limping in attempt of hunting, was never seen after separation. Beside this pair of brother and sister, other male cub which was collared, named ‘Rudra’ travelled towards Karwa range of tadoba (Non-Tourism) and was thought to be settled owing to which his collar was dropped out. Suddenly in February 2019, he was once sighted in Junona buffer of Moharli range and then after recent sightings coming up from Wagdho area of new male tiger was immediately cross-checked and is confirmed as Rudra, who has now travelled from Kolsa to Karwa to Junona to Wagdho area as of now in search of making his territory. While his brother ‘Tala’, third male among the siblings is currently settled in Tadoba range. On observing duo of Shivanzari female, both these brothers are still trying to establish their respective territory and could settle in Tadoba range. This could be tough time for all the ruling and establishing males in Tadoba, considering multiple male in close proximity.
PS: Currently in Wagdho area, male tiger seen is Rudra, son of Shivanzari female and female tiger seen is Luna, daughter of Lara.
