Someone needs to be in space, no matter what country... the big picture is so much more important than petty arguments between countries. And as for the foreign aid thing, I am 100% OK with part of my taxes helping put the human race back that much closer to the stars.

It is a shame we were once in awe of our space program in the west. Now alas, poor Yorik, we are bankrupt.

For all the naysayers and negative responses to mankinds successes because it happens to be China, I question what they base their opposition to. Is it because of North American propaganda not liking anything which is not part of the western world. We live in a global community in which all inhabitants can and should be able to play a creative and positive role.

Chinese catching up fast. USA would now have to revive a program or two to put a man in space.War seems more important than peaceful endeavours.Maybe Star Trek should have ben primarily an Asian cast.
