Post 'Fantastic Beasts' 2 new on-location photos reveal Newt Scamander walking in London
The first on-location photos from the set of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald featuring Eddie Redmayne in costume as Eddie Redmayne were released online, from a London shoot on Sunday.
Redmayne, rocking Newt Scamander's new grey jacket, walked through a crowd of possibly Muggles in London around the Bank of England area of Central London. Some of those photos of Scamander, as well as locals, and a 1920s-inspired car and bus, can be found below. No word yet on what the scenes are, but presumably of Newt getting or around London, where he debuted the release of the first edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in Diagon Alley, London. 这场戏拍摄还有不少群众演员。

The first on-location photos from the set of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald featuring Eddie Redmayne in costume as Eddie Redmayne were released online, from a London shoot on Sunday.

We asked executive producer David Heyman about conflicting reports online regarding the setting of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. We know the film has scenes in New York (which were introduced in the first film), London (which we’ve seen in Potter films), and Paris (which we’ve never yet seen in the franchise). But there’s been some confusion about how much of the film is set where.
“[The film] almost entirely takes place in Paris,” Heyman confirms. Executive producerDavid Heyman says there’s some very good reason for optimism, and gave EW details on how the second film written by Rowling will be rather different than the first.
“We delve deeper into Jo’s wizarding world— we’re in Paris, we’re in London and New York — the world is expanding,” Heyman says. “As you can tell from the image, we’re following quite a few characters.The new film has a very different feel than the first. It’s got a thriller quality. And it’s also a story about love and passion and all its forms — paternal, romantic, political. And it’s just a thrilling and very fun adventure.We took all we’ve learned from one and just expanded that and created a richer, deeper and more thrilling film which I’m excited to be a part of.”
In addition, the producer says of David Yates’ direction, “Cinematically it’s more dynamic. The camera is more alive and much more immersive. It has a more contemporary cinematic approach.”
In The Crimes of Grindelwald Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists the newly published magizologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to help him hunt the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) who has escaped and begins a quest to conquer mankind. Nearly all the members of the 2016’s film’s cast are back, including Newt’s American love interest, Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), his muggle buddy, Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler), and even the troubled young wizard Credence (Ezra Miller), whose fate was previously left uncertain.

The Oscar-winning actor has been stricken with an affliction that the cast has dubbed Wand Shoulder Strain. “It’s from doing some quite hardcore wand action,” Redmayne says of the magical world’s characteristic spell-casting gestures, “but I’m not getting any better for it.”

The huge, mutually supportive community that has grown up around Harry Potter is one of the greatest joys of my life. For me personally, the inability to speak openly to fans about this issue has been difficult, frustrating and at times painful. However, the agreements that have been put in place to protect the privacy of two people, both of whom have expressed a desire to get on with their lives, must be respected. Based on our understanding of the circumstances, the filmmakers and I are not only comfortable sticking with our original casting, but genuinely happy to have Johnny playing a major character in the movies.
I’ve loved writing the first two screenplays and I can’t wait for fans to see ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’. I accept that there will be those who are not satisfied with our choice of actor in the title role. However, conscience isn’t governable by committee.
