导演维拉纽瓦接受雅虎采访，谈电影获得的超高期待。
“电影的期待值很高，所有人都张开双臂或手拿棒球棒准备。”
导演说他理解为啥观众们对电影非常期待：
“人们对电影期待值高的理由非常简单，第一部是神作。拍续集风险很高，挑战超大。但我要说这是我生命里最值得，最兴奋的经历。超期待和你们分享这部电影。
“电影的期待值很高，所有人都张开双臂或手拿棒球棒准备。”
导演说他理解为啥观众们对电影非常期待：

1.被问电影里是否的角色学要像DRAX那样化妆？
Is he wearing any prosthetics or makeup in Blade Runner 2049?
“电影里很明显就是我本色出演，没有那样的化妆，演的是个很酷的角色。我认为银翼杀手2049电影也会像银卫那样取得巨大成功，但是人们对银卫很熟悉了。不一样的地方，人们等待银翼杀手续集已经30年了，期待非常高。”
“It’s very obvious that it’s me. It’s a very cool role, but I think the film itself is going to be so huge, as well as Guardians, but people are very familiar with Guardians. It’s really not the same, because people have been waiting 30 years for a sequel to Blade Runner, so there’s just such a high anticipation.”

2.和摄影师Roger Deakins合作是什么感觉？
What was it like working with Roger Deakins?

“He is a genius, and it was amazing. Not only him but Villeneuve, he’s also a genius. It’s weird, it’s a different experience because it was a slow process, because so much of what they do it so meticulous. They were just shooting with one camera, and it slows down the process, but at the same time they’re getting exactly what they want and they’re not playing around. When I looked back at some of the playbacks, even scenes I wasn’t in, it looks like such an amazing looking film, it’s just insane man. It’s breathtaking.”
What was it like working with Roger Deakins?

3.在片场和哪位演员拥抱最多
On the Blade Runner 2049 co-star he couldn’t stop hugging:
“有点尴尬的承认，我是福伯粉丝，超级铁粉。但我和高司令拥抱最多，停不下来。感觉挺尴尬的，我不能控制自己，每次他从我身旁走过，我就要抱他，然后再向他道歉。我就是不能控制自己，他（高司令）是绅士，说话温柔。”
“It was weird (laughing). It is a little embarrassing to admit, but the biggest deal for me — and I love Harrison Ford, I’m a huge Harrison fan — but the biggest deal for me was Ryan. I couldn’t stop hugging the poor guy. I was so embarrassed but I couldn’t control myself, every time he walked up I would just have to hug him, and I would apologize after. I couldn’t stop myself from doing it. And he’s such a nice guy, such a gentleman, and he’s just so soft-spoken. And yeah, it was more the ‘Ryan Gosling Effect’ than anything.”
On the Blade Runner 2049 co-star he couldn’t stop hugging:

维导接受VARIETY采访，称拍银翼杀手2049是最大的冒险(“most risky” film yet)。并且他和摄影师ROGER用尽最大努力和技巧采用实拍而不是用CG，当然还是会用CG进行场景加强，不是说就不要CG,但还是要尽可能用机器拍。
“I’m very old school. I wish I had the chance to do my ‘Aliens’ as animatronics. That was my dream at the beginning [of ‘Arrival’] with Bradford [Young]. We were dreaming to put them in a gigantic aquarium with gigantic beasts that would be moved by puppeteers, but sadly it would have been too expensive.
For ‘Blade Runner,’ we tried our best to do as much as possible in-camera, building everything. And Roger [Deakins] was insanely impressive in how he was able to create landscape with tricks. For me it was beautiful. I think I can count on one hand how many times I saw a green screen in all of those months of shooting. There will be CG enhancements of course, but as much as possible it was in-camera.”

我感觉我有能力拍，但我需要老雷的祝福，需要确认他认同我有能力拍续集。我和老雷，和编剧Hampton Fancher有过很美好的会谈。”
银翼杀手有着庞大的世界观，我需要用我自己的方式去消化它，然后用我的方式去呈现。所以整个拍摄制作过程就像个噩梦，非常紧张但同时又非常兴奋，导演生涯迄今从没如此兴奋过。“
问：Everyone is so excited about Blade Runner. You’re stepping into a franchise. Harrison Ford is back. These are huge promises. Can you talk about why you took this on? Was it challenging? Exciting? Scary?
答：The first time I heard that Ridley Scott was thinking of making a sequel to Blade Runner, I thought it was an insane, powerful, great, bad idea! It’s like, why?! And how? At that time I had seen some artwork and was mesmerized. I was deeply moved by the trust of the producer who came to offer me this project.
I accepted the project for two reasons. The screenplay was pretty powerful and pretty strong and I found that connection that we were talking about earlier.
Also, I love the original so much and I was not able to say no to that. It’s a movie that has been part of my education. It constructed my filmmaker DNA. It’s one of the foundations of why I’m here today. I felt it was such a strange thing that this screenplay was coming in front of me. Why me? There’s a lot of directors who could have done it.
I felt that I was able to do it. But I needed the blessing of Ridley Scott. I needed to make sure he would agree to say that I could do it. I had a nice meeting with him. I had a nice meeting with Hampton Fancher as well.
When [I made Polytechnique], the whole town of Montreal, the whole province of Quebec—everybody was saying, are you insane? But I felt compelled to do it. And it’s like I knew it was important for me to do it and I knew there was a way to do it that would mean something. But it was a huge responsibility.
[With] Blade Runner, I’m taking the universe of a master, who did a masterpiece, and I need to take this universe and digest it and to make it my own. So honestly it was like a nightmare to do that process! It was very intense. And very exciting at the same time. I’ve never been that excited in my entire life artistically as a filmmaker.

问：You seem so calm! Everyone is waiting for this movie! You’re okay with all that pressure?
答：The pressure is coming from me, myself, and it’s bigger than anything I can feel from outside honestly. At the end of the day, it’s a movie. It can be fantastic or it can be a bad movie. I don’t know. It will be for you guys to tell me at the end. But I will say it was a very deeply inspiring shoot, and that I’m pretty excited right now. But you know what? What is very delicate about the project is that even if I do a fantastic job, there will be comparisons with the first one for obvious reasons and I don’t know what will be the reaction of other people. I made peace with that. I’m going forward with that.
