最近我收到的邮件里频繁出现同一个问题，问我为什么不同的占星师对同一个星相或星盘意见不同。如果占星是科学的，不就应该只有一种可被接受的解读吗？这是个多层次的问题，太阳系里的形体活动是科学事实，星盘也根据精确的计算建立，但对它们的意义解读这里，占星师和天文学者不同，到了这里，占星成为一门艺术，而不是科学。
就像画家画出的同一主题会有对该主题完全相反的解读一样，占星师的看法也大不相同。有些占星师认为某种指标更重要，有些占星师连小行星和阿拉伯点都会参考，有些占星师运用恒星系统（基于恒星星座），有些占星师运用回归体系（基于季节）。

One of the questions that frequently pops up in my mail-bag and at my talks is why astrologers differ in their opinions on a certain alignment or a particular horoscope. If astrology is a science, shouldn’t there be only one accepted interpretation?This is a multi-tiered question. The movements of the planets in our solar system are a matter of scientific fact, and a horoscope is erected using precise calculations. But interpreting what they mean is where astrologers depart from astronomers, and astrology becomes an art, not a science.
And in the same way that artists painting the exact same subject will emerge with entirely contrasting interpretations of that subject so too do astrologers see things rather differently.Some astrologers will place greater importance on one astrological feature; some astrologers incorporate asteroids and Arabian parts; there are astrologers who use the sidereal system (based on the constellations) and those who use the tropical system (based on the seasons).
And then there are the different house systems and the various schools of astrology. And, of course, there are the vast list of effects of any one astrological factor. As I mentioned recently on my home page, one man’s Pluto-Uranus devastation is another man’s breakthrough.One thing I can say categorically is that working with astrology on a daily basis for over thirty years, experience is the greatest teacher; no text book, no video, no tutor is a substitute for direct experience.

Sharing the load.
Many hands make light work they say, and with the Sun in the area of collaborations angling bountiful Jupiter this is one of the best moments this year to team up with people, whether for business or pleasure. You may have to suppress your assertive nature and allow others to add their input, but if Saturn and those pesky outer planets have taught you anything these past few years it’s that you cannot do it all on your own.On Saturday, Venus dips into the obscure twelfth house for a couple of weeks, so if a relationship appears to cool or you experience doubts about a love affair, do nothing extreme. Wait it out.

While not every Taurean is in the mood for love you have your admirers and supporters. And just how much people admire you could become evident this week. Whether you need a career door to open or someone to pave the way forward for more personal reasons, you have the cosmos behind you, or more specifically, Jupiter. Good things come from the moves you make now, and even if you feel anything but bullish about your prospects, out of acorns come oak trees: small signs of success lead to bigger and better things.Have the courage to make that bold move; contrary to your opinion some people need to be reminded who you are and what you have to offer.

Making an impression.
Mars has only just entered the area of relating so you may not have realized that certain people have you on their list. Now, that list could be a must-see-more-of list or a hit list, but either way do not underestimate people’s ability to pursue you for your charms or tackle you because you represent a threat.Jupiter is also on top form this week, which could translate as a feather in your cap career-wise or work you had not anticipated coming your way. This might not be the most productive phase of 2018 but it has potential. So, if you have aspirations and believe in yourself, go strut your stuff.

Take a chance.
Risk-taking is not usually a Cancerian thing, but if an opportunity arises now, grab it with both hands. Finance could be in the mix here, so although you do not want to gamble every last penny on a mere whiff of hope, there is a lot of wisdom in that saying: you have to give in order to receive. (And, of course, this isn’t just about money.) On Saturday, Venus moves into the zone of far horizons, so you could be off on your travels during the next couple of weeks.If so, there could be an element of romance along the way; and should a relationship be in need of triage, consider the advantages of a break-away for just the two of you.

Bringing out the positive.
There is a reason why Venus and Jupiter are known as the lesser and greater benefics: they are almost always good news. And both these planets are centre stage this week. At the very least there could be a break in the clouds that may have hovered over the first few weeks of 2018, but at best you could be on the receiving end of a bonus.A relationship could be in the mix here, and with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, maybe someone has a beautiful surprise in mind for you. On the other hand, you may be spending time with people who bring out the positive in you; and when we feel positive it’s surprising how much better our world looks.

Feeling the love.
Lovely Venus enters the seventh house of relationships just in time for the most romantic period of the year. Now, this does not mean that every single Virgoan is about to receive a wedding proposal or that the one is set to appear, but you are beginning a four-week period in which relationship wrongs can be set to rights.Other people act as conduits to success, so if love and romance are of no interest whatsoever, perhaps you’d welcome help with the material and professional things of life. Network, socialize, reach out to people, and something good will come out of your efforts. One way or another, you’re going to feel the love.
The Week Ahead for Libra
Yes, you can!
You might not always be given to grand gestures, but sometimes this is just what is required. Should a relationship be experiencing a bumpy ride or some other project limping along due to communication problems, a statement of love and appreciation, whether in words, deeds or gifts, could make a huge difference.And vice versa: if someone appears to be offering an olive branch, don’t be too proud to accept. One of the great purposes of an astrological heads-up is that it allows you to seize the moment, so in time to come you are not looking back and wishing you have acted when you had the chance.
