罕见的巨大大白鲨在巴西被捕获
Abstract Here, we document an historical record of a largegreat white shark (GWS) captured in southern Brazilianwaters, including morphometric measurements, basic biologicaldata on internal organs and stomach contents. Thecaptured shark was a female of 530 cm TL (503 cm forklength),with an estimated total body weight of 2.5 tons. The stomach contained six shark heads, the remains oftwo dolphins and one teleost fish. The estimated hepaticsomatic index (HSI) was 27%, and to our knowledge, representsthe largest liver scientifically documented for thisspecies to date. White sharks are known to undertake largescaleoceanic and transoceanic migrations. It is possiblethat the occasional records of white sharks off Brazil, previousrecords from Argentina and Uruguay, and an individualcaptured of Tristan da Cunha may be linked to migratorymovements in the South Atlantic
