what is a better body guard than a rhino?
Well after that sighting, I would say anything...
In comparison to their body, rhinos have quite a small brain.
3 rhinos Vs 5 hyenas...
They should be able to overcome those predators, but obviously a serious lack of strategy led that poor rhino to heaven.
I even think that those rhinos were play-fighting and that guy was slightly injured as he was limping from the front leg. The hyenas passing by in the early morning decided to take their chances!!!
These scavengers kill on average 70% of their diet.
All of them disappeared in the dry river bed and about 10 min later a ranger came and check the legitimacy of the death. It only took him about 5 min to determine that no poaching occurred on this case.
One of my best Kruger sighting!
